Batch Plant Operations Manager (Mobile) – Southwest Region

Gregory Construction is seeking an experienced Batch Plant Operations Manager to oversee mobile concrete batch plant operations beginning in Rayville, Louisiana, with regular travel throughout the Southwest region to support major infrastructure and construction projects.

This is a full-time leadership position (40+ hours per week) with overtime available that requires extensive travel between job sites. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing mobile batch plant setup, production, quality control, personnel coordination, and equipment performance while ensuring safe and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of concrete batching, leadership experience in field operations, and the ability to manage mobile plant teams across multiple project locations.

This is a traveling, field-based role involving outdoor work in varying weather conditions and job site environments. Extended or overnight travel will be required depending on project assignments throughout the Southwest region.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Manage and oversee mobile concrete batch plant operations beginning in Rayville, Louisiana, with travel to project sites across Louisiana and the Southwest region

• Lead the setup, operation, relocation, and teardown of mobile batch plant equipment

• Ensure production meets approved mix designs, project specifications, and quality standards

• Oversee batching operations including cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures to ensure consistency and accuracy

• Monitor plant performance and make operational adjustments to meet slump, temperature, air content, and strength requirements

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Supervise and coordinate batch plant operators, drivers, and plant assistants

• Provide training, mentorship, and performance guidance to plant personnel

• Coordinate daily operations with project managers, site supervisors, dispatch, and construction teams

• Ensure concrete delivery schedules align with project timelines and operational demands

Quality Control & Compliance

• Maintain strict adherence to quality control procedures and concrete testing standards

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements

• Maintain accurate records for production, quality control, inspections, and equipment maintenance

• Identify and address safety hazards, operational risks, or equipment issues proactively

Equipment & Logistics Management

• Oversee transportation, setup, calibration, and maintenance of mobile batch plant equipment

• Coordinate preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime

• Monitor material inventory and supply logistics to prevent production delays

• Support equipment mobilization between projects throughout the Southwest region

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• 5+ years of concrete batching or heavy construction experience preferred

• Leadership or supervisory experience in batch plant operations strongly preferred

• Experience operating mobile concrete batch plants or similar heavy equipment

• Strong understanding of concrete mix designs, testing procedures, and quality control

• Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability

• Ability to lead teams in fast-paced construction environments

• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple job site responsibilities

• Basic computer skills for production reporting and operational documentation

• Willingness to travel extensively across Louisiana and the Southwest region

Preferred Certifications

• ACI Certification or other concrete-related certifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

• CDL (depending on equipment and transportation requirements)
